| 161636 | 2003-07-20 13:03:00 | I have a usb keyboard,is it possible to get something in the way of a connector to make it into a ps2,there are too many things I cant do with a dead keyboard whilst it is rebooting? | Thomas (1820) | ||
| 161637 | 2003-07-20 13:21:00 | Only if the keyboard is designed to operate as USB or PS2. There are USB to PS2 adapters, but these seem to be only supplied with dual connection capable mice. Never seen them separate, and very much doubt your keyboard would work with them. (Its unlikely to have been designed as dual connect, if it was you would have the adapter) New PS2 keyboards start at $19, so are as cheap as an adapter anyway. |

| 161641 | 2003-07-21 01:44:00 | They will both be tested (if there) in the POST. Since they are different interfaces, they shouldn't collide, then. The BIOS will probably "prefer" one. You won't kill anything by trying it. :D | Graham L (2) | ||
| 161642 | 2003-07-21 01:53:00 | How old is the PC? On most PC's (1-2 years old) in the BIOS there is a setting to enable USB keyboard support (or USB legacy support it is sometimes called). With this enabled the USB keyboard should act just like a PS/2 one. |
