| 161414 | 2003-07-20 04:24:00 | I just bought a 2nd hand computer as a backup. i added my connections for the internet but when i try to connect it comes up with an extra number in the box along side my xtra No of 087303030. This redundant number is 0867333222. When I delete this number I have no trouble connecting. I have twice tried adding a new connection but the No crops up each time. I've looked around some of my settings to try to find it so it can be deleted but no good so far. Can anyone help | veterannz (960) | ||

Have you tried contacting Xtra's help desk maybe they can shed some light on the issue. All you should have to do is go into dial up networking and create a new dial up account and enter your settings. Right click on the IE icon on the desktop and then click properties and then connections and have a look to see what is in there. Check the dialing properties on the modem in the control panel (by clicking the phone icon and see if the number has been used as the Area code. If so then delete it and put in your area code. Also when you make a newdial up connection Untic the use area code. I think that this is where the problem lays as I just checked and you can enter the entire number like that in the area code box. |
