are you meant to have a layout.ini file in your prefetch folder? I deleted it all, and it didnt come back, so i dunno if i need it or not. |

Don't know if the layout.ini file should be in your Prefetch folder or not but apparently all the items in there are dispensable so no harm is done deleting it. If it is needed for anything it will be put back again.
It was mentioned the other day that emptying the Prefetch folder every now and then is a good idea to refresh it like the Temp Internet Files folder. It speeds things up when it is not too bloated. |

glad u found my tip handy. i've have many more which i've found greatly increased the performance of my comp, when i have the time i might post them up. |
