2003-07-21 01:01:00 | seeing as i'm sitting here with a slight cold (at least its not the flue this time) i have to wonder if sitting in front of a pc for all hours is somewhat bad for your health. i've had several people tell me to "give up being a geek!" and frankly i'm considering it. even tho my usuall work keeps me on my feet quite a bit my fitness as gone to crap. how do you fellow geeks handle it? exspecially those who sit a desk all day (and night) stareing at a screen.

2003-07-21 01:24:00 | Well I myself VERY rarely get sick. The occasional case of the trots but that is all. The last time I ever got out of something for a sickness reason was because mum was sick and needed looking after. I think the radiation kills off most things.

2003-07-21 01:31:00 | My fitness level is about 20% of what it should be so I cant help you lol try a hot water bottle on your feet to help you keep warm and a nice balnket to save power on heating the room

2003-07-21 03:40:00 | It certainly isn't good for the cardiovascular system, and there is always the possibility of deep vein thrombosis, ie blood clots forming in your legs, and travelling round to your lungs or brain :( . | 161657 | 2003-07-21 05:33:00 | I class myself as a geek and I am very healthy. I very rarley get sick and are resonably fit. You just have to know when to say when and get off your behind and do something different. i.e. dont spend the whole weekend in front of your pc, sure spend a few hours playing games, browsing or whatever. Moderation is the key. PC's are fun and enjoyable but you dont have to make them your whole life.

2003-07-21 11:14:00 | It is deffinately not healthy sitting in front of a PC 24/7 as you will probably end up suffering from SAD. ! | mikebartnz (21) | |
2003-07-21 12:03:00 | Yes, tweak'e ... it does ... take a look at the geeks of the world and there's the first sign of proof ... When I was home (in NZ) using PCs 24/7 I would FREEZE my a*@! off for hours on end and barely saw what little sunlight there was ... I had neck and back cramps, my nose constantly sniffled and my eyesight was shot ... At the very least, the lack of cardiovascular circulation has got to be bad for you .. have another ask around and find out how many OLD geeks there are, still practicing ... you'll probably find (as I did) that they have strayed from their PCs a bit after receiving the doctors advice to get a life or die ...
