162006 2003-07-22 09:04:00 I'm posting some jpegs to an ftp site, then viewing them with IE6. But the jpegs appear crappy. The resolution is real bad and the writing has bits missing from it, yet if I save the jpeg to a file and view it outside IE6, it looks fine. Is there a setting somewhere in IE6 to improve the resolution of pictures? I've never noticed this as a problem when viewing web pages. Is it just a problem with browsing an ftp site? TideMan (4279)

162010 2003-07-22 10:20:00 Is the image showing in a smaller size as well? -=JM=- (16)
162011 2003-07-22 10:49:00 Yes, if I put them into a web page, they look fine. And yes by ftp site I mean a site like:
ftp://ftp.domainname.co.nz/incoming/jpegs/Picture1.jpeg

162012 2003-07-22 10:51:00 No the picture is the right size. What is more, if I Save As and look at the jpeg in ThumbsPlus, it looks fine. It seems to be the browser that is affecting it. That's why I asked about a setting in IE6 ...... TideMan (4279)
162013 2003-07-22 10:58:00 I wonder if you need to change the setting for "Enable Automatic Image Resizing" in IE's Tools > Options > Advanced > Multimedia? Susan B (19)
162014 2003-07-22 11:13:00 Brilliant, Susan. That fixed it!!! I unchecked "Enable Automatic Image Resizing" in IE's Tools > Options > Advanced > Multimedia
and now my jpegs appear as they should. But what other effects will that have I wonder?

Who knows? But at least you know where to go to fix anything that decides to play up. ;-)
