Erm, my friend is getting a new computer and put all of his files from his HD onto mine on the weekend while he reformats and then I will copy them back over. While we did this, we noticed that all his music (over 1000 .wma's) from all his CD's and his mates CD's are protected under Microsoft's .wma DRM. He has already reformated and now it wont play on any computer at all. All the files are legal and stuff (like the bought the CD's and put them into .wma on his computer). Is there any way he can get these files back and playing? It says somthing about a lisence or somthing :|. I have tired a few programs for him like UN**** and FREEME but they don't work. |

you need to recover the keys for the songs. unless you can recover the data from the formated drive then they are history. go rerip them and use a better format than WMA. |

How do I get the keys? (I know how to recover data). Are they is a folder/file? Once I get them, how do I put them onto his new OS/HD? |
