161826 2003-07-21 11:19:00 As for the size of the buffer, does it really matter terribly much, seeing as we are now burning and reading at such high speeds anyways?

8MB might be something worth the while, but I honestly dont think its worth that much worry..

Am I wrong in thinking this?

This is how I figure it:
2MB Buffer

1x read/write = 150kbps
10x read/write = 1,500kbps
52x read/write = 8,500kbps

So.. a 2MB Buffer if it acts as I believe it does (Storing what it believes you're next most likely to access in Buffer) then its not too much to bother about!?!

Or am I off on the totally wrong track here?

161827 2003-07-21 11:52:00 I like my LG. It comes with Nero and Burnproof.

Suits me.

161828 2003-07-21 11:58:00 I have to agree with PoWa! I purchased a LiteOn wrtier, not only because it does correct EFM, but backs up Safedisk 2.8 and securerom 2 without the need to patch the image. Dragonslayer (512)
161829 2003-07-22 09:20:00 Chilling Silently, I didn't, and don't, know anything about how the buffer worked, i just seen it in the selling blurb, and wondered if it was important. Thanks for trying to explain it to me.

As for the rest of the replies, thanks for all the imput.
