161955 2003-07-22 05:16:00 Have just installed IE6 with Service Pack from the July CD plus Outlook Express V6.
Everything seemed to go alright except I can not open any email with an attachment! - I'm on a genealogy list where I get emails everyday with up 20 or so attachments. They show on the screen 'greyed out' and no amount of clicking will open them - can anybody help? ...........please.

161957 2003-07-22 05:31:00 In tools / options / security there is an option to 'do not allow attachments that may be unsafe' etc etc. You can deselect that setting if you want.

In Outlook (not outlook express) it may be easier to download a utility to deselect which attachments you want access to.
see
www.slipstick.com

This is only for the full version of Outlook though - not Express. Also, make sure you know what you are opening before you open it - I guess this goes without saying...

161958 2003-07-22 06:02:00 there is aFAQ on this see this post (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) stu140103 (137)
161959 2003-07-22 06:20:00 It is not in the FAQ's yet so no point trying to find it there.

I think they are getting to the stage where there should be an index for Faq's listed under topics or subject.

It is getting quite lengthy and hard to find anything.

Maybe on the Post New Topic page there could a link to a quick find index as a reminder to check before posting especially for new users.
