| 162327 | 2003-07-23 21:42:00 | Dude: Fishing widow - man leaves for three days, come back smelling of fishguts and expects you to clean clothing that should have been cremated years ago. Golf widow - man leaves for four hours, wearing gear that suggests some form of latent transvestism. Always loses his balls, the boot is always full of clubs, and he disappears even more on holidays that always seem to be near a new and exciting golf club. Don't even think about the 19th hole. Rugby widow - man disappears at least twice a week, for training and game, always comes home filthy. Can't sit in his car without putting down plastic first. Man can't walk without a limp on a Sunday, too tired to do anything Saturday night. See, there are lots worse out there. At least you are around and can keep an eye on the kids when they come along, as long as they are sleeping in a room with a PC.... robo. |

| 162333 | 2003-07-24 02:44:00 | Actually that particular girlfriend left me (sob) and I had to console myself with my Yamaha XS 650 (a British clone). Now I have a wife and an R80 RT BMW (ex police) which is much more sedate and well mannered. Of course having three children means I haven't ridden it for 7 years but one day...... Now a Vincent or a Norton Commando, or maybe a Laverda (drool) might enter into future plans and this time I am married with 3 rugrats so my lovely wife can't just up and off. You have to plan long term. Take an interest in what she likes and she will be receptive to your interest. I confess I had a deep suspicion about computers myself until about a couple of years ago. My advice -buy a motorbike and take her for rides in the open air. She'll love it. |

Winston001, please clarify, are you saying your wife is much more sedate and well mannered now you have an R80? Or have I misunderstood...... And I daren't ask for an explanation along the same lines for the next sentence.... |
