| 162091 | 2003-07-22 11:22:00 | im into report / essay mode and dont want to risk losing any information like last time, so i was wondering if there was such a setting for works or not? auto save? or something along those lines. can it be set to save automatically every min or something? and if so where would i find that setting? thanxs beetle |

| 162092 | 2003-07-22 12:10:00 | It might depend on what version of works you are using. Its been a while since I last used the program, but I think it autosaves by default every 10mins. If you want to change that, you can try this: Go Save As -> In the box that appears click the 'Tools' option along the top -> go down the list and click 'Save Options'. Look at the options in there (if they exist) and it should be fairly self explanetory. If that doesn't work, go back to the program and look through all your menus and find 'options' then look carefully at whats in there. |

| 162095 | 2003-07-22 12:57:00 | In Win 98, works 4.5, you can press *Ctr and S* both together and that will save it. For the first time you would need to name the document and choose a place for it to be saved of course. If you can't find an alternative method, perhaps you could just press Ctr + S each time that you finish a sentence or paragraph. It wouldn't take much time to do and if you made it a regular habit, it would become second nature and you would hardly need to think about it. Cheers. :) |

| 162096 | 2003-07-22 13:02:00 | well i have XP home, version 6.0 works and tools options only talks about spell check and what language / USA etc wot version. and i do manually save but have been caught out that way before and lost half a page of my report so was just wondering if theres an eaasier way and also i will still use a manual save to.... thanxs everyone, beetle |
