162762 2003-07-25 11:13:00 Ok, so I decided to clean up my Windows XP Program menu. The one where you hit the Start button then go to 'All Programs'. I have my resolution set to 800 x 600 and had so much junk on it that I couldn't see off the screen.

So I went in manually to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\ and I added new folders, eg, one called Graphics, and I dragged all my graphics application shortcuts in it. It works great! So now I can go to Start > All Programs> Graphics and it has all my graphics application shortcuts in there.

The only problem is that now when I install new programs, they don't show up in the menu anymore at all :(
They ARE actually there when I look at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\ in their little shortcut folders but they don't show up from the Start>All Programs menu. How do I fix it?

162763 2003-07-25 11:25:00 How many users are on ur computer, go into the personal Startup bar in
C:\Documents and Settings\XXXXXX\Start Menu\Programs\ (where the xxxx stands for ur user) and see if it is there. If not right click on the start menu and then click on Properties & then click on Start Menu tab then click on customize then click on Add Shortcut and add the program to the start menu manually. That should clear up the problem.

cheers,

I wonder if I'll have to do this for each new program I install though? That'll be a hassle. I've installed 2 in the last couple of days, and neither has appeared in the Start button menu.
