| 162511 | 2003-07-24 05:16:00 | Hi As most devotees of this column will know there has been many pleas for either microphones or transmission of the sound from same-i e "why won't this and that work"? Me, especially, had many a search both on the web and even internal settings in my computer- and know one has been able to succeed with the solution. Over many weeks now I have tried to get speech to send to a recipient- AND with v 5 I had had that ability, but it faded long before v6 came on the market.Thanks to one or two members, who said Msn was a dog and to try Yahoo messenger--- in the end I did just that and it ruddy well works like a treat! The site is better accessed through Yahoo itself as the address given me in a chat,did not download the "speech" icon, though this is nothing , but a redownload from Yahoo itself now works perfectly. Question! on the msn site and especially in XP site they admit to errors and problems with msn, but when they say they are working on it- nothing succeeded! Surely this is a sad state of affairs when such a mighty organisation takes so long to correct it's admitted faults. Good luck to any who try this program effie c |

That is Microsoft for you :D& most people know that MSN messenger sucks! Have a read about what people say about in on download.com, it is shocking! :p If you want to have a read of issues with MSN messenger (or XP messenger, I guess they have the same issues????:|) messenger.msn.co.nz |

| 162513 | 2003-07-24 08:38:00 | Give them some time and it'll work, you can't really expect everything to be compatible and compliant with everything else 'straight out of the box' so to speak.. Even beta testers don't have all the different hardware/software combinations. Be greatful you get voice convo's and so forth, under GAIM I don't get those features... Can't even do file transfers which gets annoying at times. CyberChuck |
