Most (all) NZ sporting teams do it for the pride. |

| 162910 | 2003-07-27 09:17:00 | Here's a thought, ever wonder why NZ's national basketball team is ranked number 4 in the world, ahead of the USA who is only ranked 6th. How many of their "gun" players gave up their NBA salaries to represent their country in the BB world cup last year? Not enough it seems, I dont want the AB's going down the same road, but it definitely should not be a taxpayer funded request. I pay my taxes so I can sit in the Auckland traffic jams, not so that the AB's can fly over me in helicopters! This is an issue between the players and the NZRFU. I reckon they make enough in gate sales and TV sponsership deals, that's why we have to watch our own national game at an ungodly hour, 11pm at night! | sinndisco (4059) | ||
