| 162962 | 2003-07-26 04:53:00 | We have a wired ADSL router with a USB port on it. Also have a laptop with 802.11b built in. Currently the laptop is connected to the router with network cable. Can I plug a 802.11 wireless adapter into the router USB port to make a wireless connection between the laptop and the router (and thus do away with the cable)? |

| 162963 | 2003-07-26 05:29:00 | No, for several reasons... The first is that the USB port on the router (and the USB 802.11b device) are both slave ports. USB requires a master / slave relationship. You really need a wireless access point (AP), that connects to the ethernet part of the router. |
