| 163339 | 2003-07-27 21:52:00 | Have a HP 722a 2.0GHz running 256 MB DDR SDRAM PC2100 at 133 MHz memory speed. Tried to upgrade by installing a second 256MB stick bought from DSE (PC2700 at 167 MHz) but despite successful install it appeared that they were not compatible and had various issues. Returned RAM and am now looking at plan B - replacing existing RAM with one 512 MB stick. Do I have to buy RAM of the same speed as present (PC2100 @ 133 MHz) or should I go for more speed? Also is one brand of RAM any better than the others?? Have looked at previous posts about buying RAM online and will probably go down that route once I am sure of what I need to buy. Cheers :) | dadzka (3499) | ||
