| 163235 | 2003-07-27 07:32:00 | Hi there, I use home XP. Over the last couple of days my PC has been locking up and I have had to reboot it about once an hour. I have also had trouble in the add/remove, I try to remove some games and I get the message : could not open INSTALL.LOG file. Therefore I dont think I can remove these games. Hope this makes sense and someone may be able to help me. Thank you. Mandy |

| 163236 | 2003-07-28 10:10:00 | Hi Mandy, Does it just stop or is there a message, if so what is it? What are your computer specs and how many programs are you running at crash time? The install log usually sits in the folder with the rest of the program and tells windows what files the program has installed( and conversely what files need to be uninstalled when necessary). If the files in the folder are deleted first and then an uninstall attempted from the software uninstall in the control panel no records are found and a lot of files remain uninstalled and uselessly clogging up the system. If this is not what happened in your case it may be a registry problem. Give us some feedback before we go there. |
