163450 2003-07-28 06:49:00 Hi, Im building a website and ive got almost everything sorted, just two problems! 1) If i hadn't made the background black, there would be a whole heap of "rtf1\fbidis\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0\deflang5129" all over the page, thankfully my background is black and hides this (unless someone highlights it) does anyone know how to get around this? 2) I cant seem to get the HTML code to insert pictures into the webpage, they dont display properly, just a tiny box with an 'x', does anyone know the HTML code to get pictures onto your website?

Thanks!!

Dan

163451 2003-07-28 09:30:00 What is rtf1\fbidis\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0\deflang5129 is my question?

Pictures, is case sensitive, if you've got a picture in the location www.yourdomain.co.nz/images/ and the picture KameKrazee.jpg is the one, you'll link it like <img src=http://www.yourdomain.co.nz/images/KameKrazee.jpg> can add other attributes to this line but that's the basics of it.

If you post the link to the site, I could have a look at it and see what you mean.

163452 2003-07-28 09:34:00 Have you got the pictures saved in where your web page comes from. I just use my picture.gif or if you want it to load faster use my picture Etc. So before you save your photo to the web folder online, check out its properties, height width etc, and add them, that way the rest of the page will load before the pics, cos it knows exactly how much space it needs. And of course the align one is for where you want your picture, either left, right or center. I found heaps of tutorials on line when I started trying to make my web page with html. Good luck. supergran (108)
163453 2003-07-28 10:05:00 Like every one above has suggest use my picture.gif tags
But what I suggest is to make a separate folder for your images
Called "images" e.g. images/my picture.gif

Why I suggest this is to keep your file structure neat & tidy :) & so you know the exact location of where you images are stored & if a image brakes then you know to have a look in that folder & see if that image is there.

Hope this helps & makes sense :
