| 163334 | 2003-07-27 22:14:00 | Still having problems with word 2002. I've been thinking and have come up with this: A lot of what I am trying to format was written in Word 2000 and pasted into 2002. Would this have carried it's format over in the pasting? Could this be causeing my problems? Another query. If I start from scratch and retype the whole lot, how do I save the format. I can't find any way to "save format" Jack |

One simple solution would be to highlight all the text (Edit - Select All) Then copy (Edit - Copy) Then open a new blank document and paste only unformatted text (Edit - Paste Special - Unformatted Text) Then the entire text is there, without the original formats. All you need to do then is apply the formatting you want. |

| 163336 | 2003-07-27 22:52:00 | Thanks Godfather, I did as you said and got my document in a new file as un-formatted text. BUT when I selected the heading and altered the font size to 18 point the whole document changed to 18 point even though only the heading was selected. T he same when I changed the heading to bold the whole document became bold. What I am trying to do is: Heading (18 point bold) Several lines in 12 point normal More lines in 12 point. (indented) Then repeat the same setup through the whole document. Shouldn't be hard to do! Jack. |

I think I know where the problem may be but right now I am not able to find out how to change the setting as I am not using Word 2002. Would you like to send me the original document for me to have a look at it later today? I would be happy to find where the problem is and put you on the right track. There is no need for you to retype the whole thing - it will be something quite simple I am sure. :-) If you want to you can send it to topazz10 @ hotmail.com (remove the spaces in that address), otherwise I will have a good look through my Word 2002's settings later and see where the setting is for what I think is the problem. |
