163228 2003-07-27 07:50:00 hi, i just got an Auriga gf fx5600 (did have gf2gts), problem is, its not working in my pc (it works in others), i cant cold boot with it in, i hear 1 long beep and 2 short beeps (no vga apparently), it did work twice but it was very unstable, as soon as any heavy graphics started happening the system would crash, and hasnt worked again. Apparently the same problem happens with gf 4 ti4x00 and is suppose to be fixed with a bios flash to the lastest version, i have done this and it still doesnt work.

my system:

Abit KT7 mobo, 768mb sdram (128+128+512), 80gb+40gb+30gb hdd, cd writer, network card, soundblaster live 5.1, tv tuner. (ive tried it with only ram, OS hdd & sound but no joy)

can anyone help, i really dont wanna have to get a new mobo

thanks

163229 2003-07-27 09:00:00 what size and make power supply do you have ?? tweak'e (174)
163230 2003-07-27 11:23:00 Maybe your AGP slot is only 1.5 volts and the card needs 3.3 volts to work. Not sure as I haven't checked out the specs for the geforcefx as I can't afford one :D Odin (227)
163231 2003-07-27 13:31:00 Your board only supports 2x/4x AGP & the card is 8X AGP some cards are not backwards compatible, maybe yours is one of them.
The card also has DDRam & the board is SDRam some combinations like this can also have problems.
Check out the documentation that came with the card & it should tell you if there are any compatibility issues.
