| 1343026 | 2013-05-24 10:09:00 | Google Drive was unable to connect. When I went looking for the cause, I found That several of its files had become associated with Windows Media Player. That they - (.exe and .dll) - were labeled "opens with Windows Media Player"!!?? I have uninstalled G.Drive in order to re-install it cleanly. Now I want to un-install Windows Media Player so it won't corrupt Google Drive's re-installation. How do I do that? MS Help could only suggest That I install Win8. that is never going to happen!! |

| 1343027 | 2013-05-24 10:25:00 | How on earth did Windows Media Player manage to associate itself with .exe and .dll files :illogical If that's the case, you're going to have a very hard time fixing it... |

| 1343031 | 2013-05-24 11:05:00 | do a system restore to the day before. that might help Do this while booted from the Windows disc though, as trying to launch System Restore might launch Windows Media Player instead. |

| 1343035 | 2013-05-25 01:47:00 | if you want to uninstall Windows media player that's easy enough, Go to the Control Panel, programs and Features, near the top left, Turn Windows Features on or off - when it loads scroll down and expand media Features, untick Windows Media Player. Just keep in mind sometimes things break if these programs are removed ( but not always) Had similar actually with a customer and Firefox, it did an update and all of a sudden ALL exe files and programs wanted to open in FF - made life interesting :D FF totally screwed up the system. |
