A new news release is available for you to view on the Police website:

Title: Homicide In Ranui:

Waitakere CIB has launched a homicide enquiry after the suspicious death of a 29 year old male in the West Auckland suburb of Ranui last night.

Police went to an address late in the evening on Tuesday 18 December 2012, after reports that a man had been taken to Waitakere Hospital with unexplained injuries. He later died as a result of his injuries.

The address has been cordoned off while a scene examination is being carried out. An area canvas is now in progress. A post mortem is planned later today.

Police are speaking with witnesses. Anyone who has information or knowledge about the death of the young man can call Waitakere CIB on 09 839 0600 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111

I've lost track of the number of homicides lately, they seem to be becoming more frequent.
