1319003 2012-12-18 18:38:00 "We need to increase the tax take,as Treasury (not us) have got the sums wrong (again),the Minister of education needs to step up,as we have overpaid the teachers and the overdraft is a tad high,so don't you worry you little plebs,we'll have it sorted for you and by the way our pay rise needed concern you... we are doing such a good job and the outlook is fine (for us). So have a Merry Christmas and I'll send you all a card from Hawaii, not sure if it will be a Get Well card or a Wish You Were Here card! yet,but it's the thought that counts, isn't it?"

1319004 2012-12-18 23:11:00 Well we all know that you up the price of petrol and you up the price of everything.

But I don’t care anymore.

You see by 9pm tonight, all going well, I’ll be in Aus and if I never see this hole again it’ll be too soon.

1319005 2012-12-18 23:24:00 If they hit surplus by 2015 isn't it, isn't it also that is right in time for the next election? How convenient ... We got tax drops at one of the prev election, I wonder what they give in 2015. Nomad (952)
1319006 2012-12-18 23:25:00 Russell Norman - the Greens - gave the best response. Said that the petrol tax was the price of the rich giving themselves a tax cut.

The petrol rise will only hurt the poor. Petrol or electricity could double and a large number of New Zealanders would not notice - the ones who gave themselves a tax cut

Great cartoon
