Another interesting update - took my SIM out, chucked it in my dad's phone. Recognised all my contacts first time. Chucked my dad's SIM in my phone - all contacts recognised.
Guess I'll be taking it back tomorrow. Sigh, not really looking forward to battling the warehouse staff again. Any tips on how to deal with staff?

Tell them it "Doesn't work". They might understand that. Get a cheap Nokia. Pretty sure Harvey Normans has a $30 one.

1318942 2012-12-19 09:36:00 Tell them it "Doesn't work". They might understand that. Get a cheap Nokia. Pretty sure Harvey Normans has a $30 one. Hopefully. Had a previous experience with the warehouse and their customer service/replacement policy so I'm not confident. Nick G (16709)
1318943 2012-12-19 22:31:00 Well, situation resolved, if in a slightly roundabout way.
Took it into the warehouse, along with a second 2degrees sim and another phone. Showed them the problem, they were insistent it was a faulty sim. Showed them that the other phone could read the sim just fine, customer service rep still insisted it was a faulty sim. Finally, she said if I was so sure I should take it to a 2degrees store.

Off I went to a 2degrees store. They had a look and couldn't work out why it wasn't being read. They got another sim, and transferred my contacts and phone number to that. They then tested it and my phone read the new sim just fine, all contacts read first time. So, they ended up gving me both sims for free!

Needless to say I am pretty happy about the 2degrees customer service at the moment.

1318944 2012-12-19 22:57:00 Ok, my contacts are definitely on my SIM card now. But my new phone show them, and I can't see any way of importing them.

www.thewarehouse.co.nz This is my new phone (yea yea, stop laughing at it :p)

I got one very similar, looks identical but a older 1080T model :p
