1318420 2012-12-16 19:39:00 Mayan calendar did not include the leap year.
As far as I can tell:
Caesar created leap years in 45 B.C.
There has been about 514 leap years since then,
which would make it like 6 or 7 months ago.
But then I don't think the world will end just because a calender does.
My calender at home ends at the end of every year but I don't panic! : )

1318422 2012-12-16 20:35:00 If the Mayans were still around they'd just be making a new calendar.
Why anyone thinks arbitrary numbers assigned to mark the passing of time have any significance is beyond me.
If I make a new calendar and declare today the 1/1/1 will something significant happen ?

1318423 2012-12-16 21:07:00 Lol...why should the earth end on the 21st anyway? The Mayans were just a primitive people. How could they possibly predict the end sooo many years ago? ChazTheGeek (16619)
1318424 2012-12-16 21:14:00 Its kinda funny seeing that they never actuly predicted the end of the world at this date, its simply just a cycle in their calander much like the year or month but obviously alot longer.

I think we should be more worried about the year 7600002012 as scientist predict the sun will engulf the earth in 7.6 billion years.

1318426 2012-12-16 21:37:00 Yeah,, see you in the nut house . . .

I'm already here . . . because no one believes that I'm the second-coming of Jesus because God told me so . . . the guy next door just yelled out "No I didn't!"

But really . . . world ending . . . No . 2012 ending . . . . Of course as did the 2011 years before this one . . . (and years prior JC) .
Running out of space to put dates on a rock is no sign of the end :)

1318429 2012-12-16 22:32:00 its simply just a cycle in their calander

A calender is like a colander without the "o"?
