1344143 2013-05-30 01:38:00 I've heard from a system engineer that you should *not* install "Desktop Experience." I've seen at least one post that enabling the feature can trash your server.

If you search the Windows server 2012 page, you're taken to the Windows 2008 R2 page :yuck:

[Sic] "The Desktop Experience feature enables you to install a variety of Windows 7 features on your server running Windows Server 2008. If you use Windows Server 2008 as your primary operating system, you might want to have some of these Windows 7 features available for your daily use."

Apparantly this is the only way to add "(My) Computer" and "Control Panel" to the desktop.

1344144 2013-05-30 01:49:00 I've done that on our workshop 2012 server and it didn't get trashed.
I think that allows you to have sound as well.
