1342952 2013-05-24 04:53:00 Hi Guys

I often open up my desktop and play around with my hard drives etc.

Then when I go to boot up I have heart attacks as various drives are not recognised, wont boot etc.

Then I play with the sata connectors and it works all OK.

I find the connectors are not very firm or positive and the sata cables can become very loose on the hard drive end.

What do you think ?

Should I try some new cables ?

Or is it just me.

1342954 2013-05-24 06:00:00 The metal clipped ones are good if you want a firm connection, they have teeth that face backward, if you pull on them they dig into the plastic. Trouble is they can also break the SATA tab or put grooves in the casing if you try to hard.

Drive connections are not really meant to be pulled on/off all the time, that's why they come lose.
