163557 2003-07-29 01:49:00 Is it just me, or is the Paradise.net mail server down?

There is nothing on Paradise Home Page, but the mail server is just not responding at all.

163559 2003-07-29 02:22:00 It's ok with me (Wellington), just downloaded a 4.5MB file ok, but sometimes it does seem to go on strike! Terry Porritt (14)

Paradise has been owned by Telstraclear for quite some time now.

I have had trouble getting into paradise mail around lunchtime today, OE kept timing out & I have paradise cable.
I also notice that the paradise usage page seems to be the slowest page on the net.

163564 2003-07-29 10:07:00 Hi Steve

I used to subscribe to Telstra - the connections were great, the help desk superb. Then they acquired Clear, and from there it was all downhill starting when I think they rationalised the hardware and people, by using Clear ghardware and people in Auckland. Connections at times were down to an abysmal 800 bps (I kid you not). For what it's worth - that was around a year ago this happened.

If find that as well. Maybe its because those member pages use encryption and it has to authenticate the user more thoroughly or something?
