163805 2003-07-29 23:32:00 I’ve been given a motherboard with onboard everything but I’m unsure about the Audio.

There’s three unlabeled jacks which I guess are Mic – Line In – Audio Out .

As I say they are unmarked, except for being coloured Green – Blue – Pink from top down.

Anyone tell me what each colour equals?

Thanks
Bob

163806 2003-07-30 01:50:00 There is a standard:

PC99 standard defines the following color codes to be used for PC soundcard connections:

Pink: Microphone input
Green: Line/speaker/headphone output
Blue: Line in

163807 2003-07-30 01:51:00 On the back of a Dell Optiplex here, the speaker cable to a Philips monitor (amplifier) is in the green socket, so that's a line level output . There's another blue speaker (line?) output. The red one is microcphone.

Try. You won't wreck anything if you get it wrong. :D At worst, they won't weork.

163811 2003-07-31 05:34:00 Graham, I should have added see my other post "No Audio" :^O B.M. (505)
163812 2003-07-31 06:25:00 I saw it, but I thought you'ld see this. The ones I have described had punched symbols as well as the colour (and I could see where the cables were going to). The symnbols are "standards" too. :D Graham L (2)
163813 2003-07-31 06:45:00 Why make it difficult, when with a little more effort they could make it impossible! :( B.M. (505)
