| 164173 | 2003-07-31 07:13:00 | Norton AV tells me my PC has this bloody trojan. In simple terms how do I get rid of it short of taking it to the shop. The only thing iI understand from the symantic site is to disable system restore. Where would this come from. I haven't downloaded any .exe files or the like | veterannz (960) | ||

These can also come "packed" with another program. So you install that new spell-checking program and in the background, the trojan is being unpacked as well. |

First turn of restore, then restart, then clean, then turn restore back on. This is something everyone should do with winME and XP, with detection of a virus or trojan, if your antivirus program keeps picking it up on each scan, or can't seem to clean it. |
