163918 2003-08-01 04:41:00 The Zire is the Palm PDA that is being given a way to a lucky poster. Was on the top of the page not so long ago.

Don't they come in left hand drive and right hand drive versions?

163921 2003-08-01 05:25:00 I really wanted the "71", anyway. , he said in sour grapes mode. :D It's not the entry level; it's got a camera.

Even so, the plain Zire is nice. It doesn't run Windows, so most of you lot wouldn't like it. :D

Billy . Sorry, I did not explain myself clearly enough . I said that mine was 'similar' to the PCWorld ones . What I was referring to was the performance and manner of operation, not the external look of it . Mine was a Consumer one, not a PCWorld one, thus with no torch I am left totally in the dark . :( :D :D

Cheers,

Well, the torch was working so I think the batteries were in the right way. When I switched on the thing I didn't hear any static so I opened it up to see if I could fix it and broke the thing to pieces. :D

163924 2003-08-02 04:03:00 Torch bulbs are not polarity sensitive flyer, and it is an incandescent bulb, not an LED (which certainly would not work in reverse polarity) but my comments were a bit tongue in cheek anyway and I wasn't seriously suggesting that you would put the batteries in the wrong way round. ]:)

No static is a sure sign that something was amiss though. Pity it didn't work, but again, I am sure PCW would supply a replacement.

Cheers
