| 164398 | 2003-08-01 07:21:00 | Hi folks, I am using windows 2000 and somehow it now boots with the taskbar and the Start button etc at the top of the screen. I want it back at the bottom but it does not respond to dragging -how can I achieve this please? If I try to drag the taskbar to the bottom it merely turns into a double ended black arrow and acts like a blind. If I click on an area with no icons and the arrow remains as a white arrow the attempt to drag the taskbar shows no evidence of response. Just how do I get the taskbar with its Start button back to the bottom of the screen for each boot up? |

| 164400 | 2003-08-01 08:06:00 | Thanks for your rapid reply godfather. Unfortunately in Win2000 right clicking on the taskbar does not produce anything that looks like "lock taskbar" -I wish it did. I appreciate your willingness to help. Regards,Learner |

| 164401 | 2003-08-01 08:27:00 | Windows 2000 doesn't have the lock task bar function. Just drag it down the the left button. | -=JM=- (16) | ||
| 164402 | 2003-08-01 09:07:00 | Thanks for your reply -=JM=-. I had been dragging the taskbar with the left button held down but with no results. Anyway after your email I tried yet again and although it proved impossible to drag the taskbar at the top down it *was* possible to drag it to the right hence shrinking the task bar into a vertical bar at the right hand of the screen. I was then able to drag the left side of that vertical bar to the bottom and achieve the result. My theory is that the screen may have not displayed the precise top of the task bar,when it was at the top of the screen, and perhaps you have to click on the exact top of the task bar to slide it to the bottom of the screen. All solved now -great! I appreciate receiving your rapid assitance -=JM=- Regards,Learner |
