To speed things along while running self-written progs using QBasic I have installed a Ramdrive which has the identity of Z: - I would like to rename this to say D: - does anyone know how please?

164600 2003-08-02 00:51:00 Try right-clicking on My Computer and choose Manage

Click on Disk Management or the likes, and you should be able to change the letter in there, dependant on what you mean by RAM-Drive... :-)

164601 2003-08-02 03:26:00 Apologies - I should probably called it a ramdisk , it's a chunk of ram (1mb in my case) which performs in all ways as if it is a floppy except much faster of course.
I got to the XP section indicated but couldn't find any mention of changing letters - will do more searching. Many thanks.

It's under Storage... Disk Management. Right click the drive you want to change and choose the appropriate option.
