Do you mean two versions of the programme running at the same time (What is the point of that?), or do you mean one or more registration/usernames running simultaneously? You can use the programme to access any number of accounts, but only one at a time. With ICQ open, go to "My ICQ" open "Change user on this computer" and simply switch to your other account. Or any one of a dozen other accounts. :-) |

| 164652 | 2003-08-02 06:13:00 | You can but only if you have more than one ICQ account. For just one account then no. As soon as you log on the second time the first connection is dropped. I don't know how well ICQ handles multiple accounts but I know that Trillian does it easily. |

| 164653 | 2003-08-02 06:18:00 | i'm deaf and yeah i use sms alot... and my phone is outta credit... so am using icq to text ppl..and they reply to icq too.. and when one reaches limit..i open another...and use that too but sometimes i use vodafone and they reply to icq...the prob is..which number... thats why i wanna have both my 2 icq numbers running at the same time.. i didnt/dont think trillian can send/receive sms for icq users.. |

| 164655 | 2003-08-02 11:12:00 | Hi Chris, do you mean more than one version of ICQ at one time (eg 2002 and '99 versions), or more than one instance (so you can have multiple accounts open)? You can do the latter with a nifty little program called Multiple-ICQ which you used to be able to download from Download.com (but I can't see it there anymore) but it looks like you can get it from Simtel.net (www.simtel.net here[/url]). If this doesn't work, I've got a copy somewhere here on CD that I could email to you :) HTH Mike. |
