164901 2003-08-03 10:39:00 xp pro doesn't require activation.

sp1 only looked for the 2 most widespread keys, the release of the key generator blew that effort out of the water.

Back when xp was released there were some quite involved directions floating round the net that explained how to circumvent xp home registration.

Oh yes it does :) Xp Pro Corporate edition doesn't require activation, but typically to get a corporate edition you need to buy a license from Microsoft I believe.

The way they're going, I'd say it'd be closer to the 2 years :) Although I believe I did read somewhere that the planned release date was mid 2005, so that'd be right I guess... although they did change the plan a bit and I haven't seen the update.

164909 2003-08-03 12:55:00 Hey thanks for the link metla, interesting site. And yea you can download betas of longhorn, I'm not going to say where tho - that would be illegal :p

Anyone know how to sign up to be a real beta-tester for Longhorn?? Now would be the best time right?

As far as I'm aware they haven't released the beta yet, all the downloads still available seem to be alpha releases (unless something has been released very recently).

Yes I know how to sign up to be a "real" beta-tester for Longhorn. But I'm not going to say where tho - that would be illegal :p :D ;)
