2003-08-04 08:25:00 | I'm building a new pc and i was wondering what sort of a motherboard i should get. It needs to support: must fit into a Thermaltake Xaser III case all CPUs above Athlon XP 2800+ DDR 400 ram. Serial ATA AGP 8x USB 2.0

2003-08-04 08:48:00 | Also wondering if Abit AT7 MAX2 VIA KT400 Serial ATA is a good choice? | Chao is back (634) | |
2003-08-04 10:13:00 | Any ATX motherboard will fit into the Thermaltake case. I've got an Asus A7V600 MB in mine, with all the extra's on it - but am currently having difficulty getting Ram to run well on it. Epox MBs are very good - so you could try one of those. I'd spend my money getting a fast hard or two (in RAID 0)... N

2003-08-05 02:02:00 | I have had good experiences with Socket A Asus mobo's with the Via chipset. I currently have an A8V333-X, but any of the newer 400 or above chipsets should do the trick, just be careful going too new a chipset as it will not have the tried and tested reliability of an older one. There is a reason why it is called cutting edge technology - you often get cut. G P

2003-08-08 11:57:00 | Well I have my new Soltek running now and I'm quite happy with it. Now to pick up a Serial ATA drive. :-) | Elephant (599) | |
