Hi all. Using Windows XP Pro (no SP) and my floopy drive has stuffed up and I don't really care as I havnt used it for about 3 years :P. I am just wondering, I have taken the drive and floopy cable out of the computer but XP still shows it there. I went to My Cpmuter - Manage - Device Manager and uninstalled it but every time I reboot it shows up. Any ideas? |

Go into BIOS, on the first heading, open. Scroll down to the floppy listed and change it to NONE. Save and exit.
If that doesn't fix it, suggest go to your device manager and at the bottm will be a selection in the floppy controller to disable. |

Why don't you just get another floppy drive, since they are only about 15 dollars, besides if some drivers for new hardware (yes sometimes) come on a floppy, you will be with out a driver and you will have to search for one on the net. (sometimes this can be hard) |
