165438 2003-08-05 06:09:00 Some people remain newbies forever, because they dont seem to learn, be it PCs, tramping and bush navigation, managing people etc. You are not in that category Beetle. So ergo, you are not a newbie :)

Unfortunately, these days I think I'm reverting to newbie as I forget more than I learn :(

165440 2003-08-05 06:49:00 When I first got my puter (18 months ago) my nephews and nieces kept calling me a "nOOb" & now that Im hooked they call me a "nurd." Can't win really. Still, it beats being called "an old fart" gerrypics (323)

165446 2003-08-05 09:59:00 I would like to know the real origin of TTFN, which is now world wide. As far as I'm aware, it started as a catch phrase along with many others in ITMA (It's That Man Again... ie. Tommy Handley), a 'wireless' BBC program during the war. However it may be older than that, anyone know? Terry Porritt (14)

Once apon a time I used to rip the head off my car and do a valve grind.
Morris Minor. I don't do that on the car I use now.

Reminds me of the Doctor who specialises in ENT and then concentrates on the Left nostril.

None of us knows everything.

I am 61 years old and have not stopped learning yet.
