166144 2003-08-08 01:32:00 I went to a bookshop and asked the saleswoman,
"Where's the self-help section?" She said if she told
me, it would defeat the purpose.

Do you think I should frequent this store again?

166145 2003-08-08 01:42:00 I'd still go there, just shows that she had a good sense of humour. -=JM=- (16)
166146 2003-08-08 03:05:00 Thats funny , but seriously you should have told her you were in a hurry and wanted to utilise her expertise in the field of books etc a little praise is always useful rather than criticism . kiwibeat (304)
166147 2003-08-08 04:16:00 Friend of mine used to have a theory that the staff at Whitcoulls had a communal brain and you had to get the one with the brain or you were in trouble. Once asked someone in a Whitcoulls where the Heralds were and they said they had to go ask the Manager (and they were standing in front of them, spotted them when they went off looking for them).

Is kind of funny, but not good technique.

Definitly yes - that kind of humour is too rare these days in corporate and retail environments. That encounter should be treasured
