| 166095 | 2003-08-07 18:38:00 | Hi Just recently everytime I open up my any program applications on my computer there's always a short duration of "windows installer " that pop-ups before I can use any applications . It didn't ask what kind of program w/c are going to be installed nor the path or location of the files where the installation files reside . Now, I need your advice how can I get rid the above pop-up so that it will not prompt anymore in the future . I'm using XP Home Edition . thanks & regards Raymond |

| 166096 | 2003-08-07 20:30:00 | xp will this if the application was installed by another user as it stores application settings in a hidden file somthing.dat (sorry cant remember the exact file name)in the user profile who installed it, if another user uses that application it will then install into that users profile. There are ways around this and involves a supper hidden user called "default" But my questions are, Is it the same application that lauches the installer or is differnet applications each time? how many users do you have for that machine and do they have their own log on accounts ? and is your account set up as administrator or default user with no administrtor rights ? |
