166008 2003-08-07 06:03:00 HI,I have windows 98SE with IE6.I have put some JPGs onto an external Zip drive disc but have lost all the colour in the JPGs!-can I get the colour back ?? CHEERS rdee rdee (1809)

maybe you put the disks too near magnetic sources

It is more likely that the files were saved in monochrome and the comparative file size might be a clue. I'm not sure how the colour is encoded on jpegs but I can't see it being stripped by a simple file save to external media.

I wait with bated breath for the answer to this one when it finally emerges.

166012 2003-08-07 08:41:00 HI again,quick replys again.I downloaded with-rt click>save picture as>-I have not had this trouble before.My viewer is IrfanView.I will redownload a few more JPGs & take them thru the same process.I now think the problem is that I have put them onto a compressed Zip drive.'I shall return' [tomorrow] rdee (1809)
