| 166142 | 2003-08-08 04:00:00 | I did something which I hope will turn out well... I bought an Athlon 2600+ and combined it with DDR400 RAM - Athlon 2600+ would more normally go with DDR333 RAM. The idea being that when 3200+ or higher gets cheap enough, I can upgrade without having to change my RAM again. The system seems to be running quite fine even though the memory gives no indication that it is being "underclocked" - it seems to be running at 400 - is this a fluke or normal? |

| 166143 | 2003-08-08 05:26:00 | The memory will work "up to" a certain speed. If the processor doesn't need all its speed, that doesn't matter. If the processor expects data before slower memory can provide it, that's when you get problems. | Graham L (2) | ||
