166161 2003-08-08 07:26:00 paradise dial up (50667bps) -> smoothwall (proxy off, load average 0.08, 0.10, 0.07) -> me (mozilla 1.4, cache off, mandrake 9.1).

trade me: 8 secs.
nzoom: 28secs.
pressfs (logged out, default settings): 15 secs.

With caching on I got 4, 6, & 8 seconds respectively.

PressF1 took a couple of goes. It kept getting stuck at "Waiting for pressf1.pcworld.co.nz...".

166163 2003-08-08 08:15:00 on paradise 56k, two tries at each:

PressF1 = 10sec, 15sec.
Trademe = 4sec, 4.5sec.
Nzoom = 26sec, 16sec

I was surprised at the result for Nzoom - I'm used to PF1 taking ages to load though. Trademe is always zippy, love it.

166164 2003-08-08 09:41:00 slingshot 56K, WinXP Pro, Mozilla Firebird 0.6.1, cache cleared, connected at 52Kbps:

PressF1 (logged out - 15 topics showing) = 11.5sec
PressF1 (logged in - 100 topics showing) = 20sec
TradeMe = 10sec
Nzoom = 31sec

cached:
PressF1 (100 topics showing) = 11sec
TradeMe = 4sec
Nzoom = 7sec

PressF1 always takes a long time to start loading, but once it starts it speeds along nicely.
With Nzoom and PressF1 it's the skyscraper ads that seem to hold the page up from finishing sooner (esp. PF1 as it waits to connect to the doubleclick server.)

166165 2003-08-08 10:16:00 I just tried pressf1 again, after being logged off and browsing elsewhere.

It took 32 seconds! Another 25 seconds to open this thread.

nzoom and trademe are still as fast as before. Are you sitting on the bottleneck Robo??!!

I better add those above time where times with a stop watch, & I was logon on to Press F1 & the cache was not cleared, part from that, I had not been to NZoom that day, & first time to trademe, for a few months
