166719 2003-08-11 03:42:00 I am using win xp and word xp.
When I rt.click on something and select "send to" and "mail recipient" the card pops up and does it's thing and then nothing. I can not send anything.
Dragging and dropping works, but not send to!!!!
Any ideas,
Jack

166720 2003-08-11 05:18:00 Need to clarifying a couple of things first:

1. Are you trying to do the Send To thing in Windows Explorer?

2. Are you trying to email a Word document via the Send To option (in Win Explorer)? Or are you trying to send a document to some other folder?

166721 2003-08-11 07:00:00 I take it that he is trying to "send (the document) to" someone via e-mail.

Have you set your e-mail program as your default e-mail program? If not, it wont know what program to send it to.

This works fine for me, I have Eudora set as the default e-mail program and using "send to" creates a new e-mail message with an attachment. I have to bring the e-mail program to the front (from the taskbar) to see it, but its all sitting ready for the recipients name to be inserted. If my e-mail program is not running at the time, it will launch it.

Again, you have to have specified that your e-mail program is the default before this will work. If using OE, Tools|options|general. Look at vthe buttons at the bottom of the dialogue box.

So are you going to let us know what e-mail program you are hoping will send them, and if is it set as default as I asked above?
We are trying to help, but you need to give us some small answers ...

166724 2003-08-11 22:17:00 have you tried the 'e-mail this file' in the left hand panel? Trev O (452)
166725 2003-08-11 23:38:00 Hi,

How many accounts do you have on your Operating System? If, more than one, are you logged as Administrator? If you continue this problem, its more likely that you could be a Power User or a member from some other group.

Say for example, you are trying to send a file to another user from another account. Of course when you try and attempt this, you will not be successful. As the whole relationship would most likely affect any 'rights' issues, in this area where you need to fix.

This is only just one of the other reasons why you may encounter no action at all when trying to send from an account that does not give you the right to do such a thing.

Just an idea!!

166726 2003-08-12 01:23:00 Thanks for all the advice. The problem is now fixed. A .dll file had got up and walked out. After a full re-install of XP everything is working as it should..
Thanks again,
Jack
