| 166627 | 2003-08-10 13:12:00 | hi im running win xp profesional a via p4pb 400fl motherboard 512 meg of 333ddr ram and a geforce 4 mx graphics card the comp shuts down to a blue screen sometimes a couple of times a day mainly when im on line sometimes it will work fine for several days message when blue screen comes up says the comp has been shut down to protect it with the following reasons for the shut down what do they mean how do i fix win 32k.sys address Bf86d379 base at Bf800000 or win 32k .sys.address bf878b6a base at bf800000 had one that said ntfs.sys address f8401bc6 base at f83e6000 any ideas or help appreciated peter |

| 166628 | 2003-08-10 16:40:00 | Well I just have one idea at this point. What you posted indicates a sick memory stick to me. Try a search on Google for Memtest86 and download. Make sure you have a formatted floppy disk handy and extract the memtest to the floppy using make. Boot off the newly made floppy. You may need to get into the BIOS first and use Floppy as first BOOT device, HDD0 or HDD1 as second boot device. Use CDRom as third boot device. If you need more help about getting into the BIOS then post back here. Usually hitting the <Del> key at start does it... It could be other keys like F10 etc. Post back with your motherboard info if you know and I'm sure that someone will help you on how to get into the BIOS. Just change the BOOT order and nothing else in the BIOS!! |

| 166629 | 2003-08-12 03:26:00 | thanks elephant i downloaded the programe and let it run for 6 hrs it didnt show any problems with memory i wasnt sure wether the program ran untill finished then shut itsself off or wether it just kept running as long as it was left on my hard drive is 80 meg thanks peter |
