system win/98 - scanner is canosan lide 20/lide 30 - has been working away satisfactorily for some time but today decided to freeze when the scanned item was to be copied - ctrl+alt+del cleared the screen but a repeat operation ended as a freeze again - disabled the anti virus, in fact cleared the quick launch bar, but problem persists - one other time i noticed in system config in the general tab it was in selective start so moved it to normal, this is as is now - any suggestions would be much appreciated thanks |

you may have to reinstall the scanner software drivers |

I had the same problem with a Cannon-- I had to go to their site and download a driver, as Windows XP would not accept it from the supplied disk. I then disregarded Bill`s dire warnings about ''unsigned drivers'' or some such drivel, and it was tickety boo. |
