5. With both qualities, it hung around 20% CPU utilisation (WMP, that is, not overall), averaged about 18%, ranged from 15% to 23%.

166871 2003-08-16 09:01:00 Anyone notice the alarming trend here??? The suckers using SP1 for XP and windows media player have 5-35% more cpu useage than anyone else using WinAmp, and they have much more ram and CPU power as well.

When will you learn.. :p

Does it really matter though?

166873 2003-08-16 13:23:00 Of course it matters. Frees up cpu and memory for other matters. If your a gamer you can happily run winamp and play your game, whereas media player is out of the question. PoWa (203)
