| 1344491 | 2013-06-02 02:50:00 | I can't seem to be able to transfer a folder from my mobile phone to my PC - it only allows transfer of individual files within the folder to be transferred. Is this normal, ie is there no way to transfer the whole folder in one go? Phone has Android 2.3.6; PC has Vista Home Premium SP2. I can of course do it via usb, but it's a minor irritation. |

Plod, yeah tried that, but in my limited knowledge I have to get the phone to send first before the PC can get them ("better to give than to receive" Syndrome I guess). Speedy, yeah I'll try the wireless way, the lappie does have a built-in adaptor, although speed isn't an issue. |

| 1344498 | 2013-06-03 21:42:00 | Not sure I'd bother anyway, I've tried Bluetooth on mine and it's slow and buggy. By the time a single medium sized file has transferred I could have walked to my car, grabbed the USB cable that lives in there, come back, and transferred several files. On top of that if you leave it running with a lot to transfer it's not unusual to check it later and discovered it halted or lost connection at some point and you have to start over. Maybe it's just me? Bluetooth works great for headsets, streaming music, pairing a keyboard, etc - but file transfers? not really. I've tried file managers than let you copy stuff over wireless to & from shared network folders, they work ok but setting them up and then browsing to the network folder can be a bit tricky. All in all by far the most painless way is via USB. |
