| 1320356 | 2012-12-27 22:34:00 | Ok so our family fairly new to android phs. One kidlet got a samsung pocket 2dgs. No worries on credit usage. Other kidlet has telecom ph wth telecon. He got it xmas day. Downloaded free games. Problem being he has eaten his $20 that was spare. He has txt plan wth data. Are the games eatng his credit? Or is somethng else eatng it? Is there a way to stop it eatng as such when not being used? Or are we missing somethng? We stl dnt have internet at our house. So the phs are only option at this stage. We are waitng on net connection. So eatng his credit which isnt on his txt plan means $ :( sugestions? Games to take off ph? Or is it roaming to use data? | beetle (243) | ||
| 1320357 | 2012-12-27 22:59:00 | Well how much data have they used? calls/texts? Might be worth getting Telecom's $19 500mb/60min/texts prepaid plan... the standard Smart Prepay is like $1 for 10MB then $1/MB after that. Chew it up quickly if you download a 20MB game. | inphinity (7274) | ||

He has $19 txt plan so many txts call mins an data. So now my understanding is if it uses the plan data allowance then it eats available credit? Thanks to that sentence you cleard up a few thngs for me. I wil look further into the data plan for them instead of the txt plan next time. :) Do the games use data once downloads an being played? | beetle (243) | ||
| 1320359 | 2012-12-27 23:21:00 | Some games do, if they're online, but most don't. If they're showing ads, that will use some data, though only small. You should be able to check data usage in the settings for the phone. I suspect they're not actually on the $19 txt/60min/500mb plan. Or maybe they are.. and if so, the $19 gets subtracted right away, so they'd have only $1 left (but still able to use up to the limits allowed by the plan). | inphinity (7274) | ||
