Did I die too? I hope not, RIP Gerry Anderson

1320326 2012-12-28 04:03:00 Sad when anyone dies whether they created anything or not.
However just to be that guy, I hated thunderbirds and similar shows. They were terrible.

1320328 2012-12-29 01:29:00 The show's in Order (The puppet ones at least):

The Adventure's of Twizzle (1957-59)

Torchy The Battery Boy (1959)

Four Feather Falls (1960)

Supercar (the first in "Supermarionation" 1961)

Fireball XL5 (1962, a similar series made by Anderson's former working partner Roberta Leigh was also airing during that year called "Space Patrol", but is well below the standards of Anderson's programs)

Stingray (The first british program to be entirely in color. Opening sequence for the first 26 episodes started in black and white, then switched to color as a "big suprise", later from Episode 27, the start was reshot in full color. This is from 1964)

Thunderbirds (the only other than Supercar to have two series, although the second series only lasted for 6 episodes. 1965)

Captain Scarlet & The Mysterons (My favorite and the darkest of the series, from 1967)

Joe 90 (used to love this one as a kid, and never got into thunderbirds back then, as it was too long for me being 1 hour as apposed to 30 minutes. Now I wonder what was so great about it. Apart from the cool theme tune and the spinning chair, it's pretty boring series compared to the others.

The Secret Service (Gerry Anderson's personal favorite of the puppet series, it combines with ocasional live action footage. It's a great series and really worth a watch. from 1969.)
