167130 2003-08-12 09:06:00 I understand using Ghost, two computers can be linked together via (I think), the printer port and transfer the entire contents of the first HDD to another HDD on the second computer. By entire contents, I mean including the operating system - like everything.

In the end, you end up with two computers with exactly the same operating system on two different computers, for the price of one OS.

Surely this must be illegal. If this is correct, how does Ghost even exist.

Just Wondering

167131 2003-08-12 09:23:00 It could be used like that, but that is not the purpose. It's more for rapid restore of a system back onto the original (say if something goes wrong), or for quick installs onto many computers in a corporate environment where licenses are held for many copies of the OS, but it's quicker to install it just once and then just copy it over to the rest.

To me that is like saying, how can a gun or computer, even, exist if you do something illegal with it.
